Obama: The death of Osama's message that America Never Forget
New York - U.S. President Barack Obama issued a new statement related to the death of Osama Bin Laden. He said the death of al-Qaeda leader as a message to the terrorists that Americans never forget the events of 11 September 2001 attacks.
"When we say will never forget, we mean it for what we say," Obama said as quoted by AFP on Thursday (05/05/2011).
Obama said that when unplanned stop at a firehouse in Manhattan, shortly after he arrived in New York.
He praised the firefighters who worked hard on September 11, 2001. At that time the fire rescue operation of victims crushed by rubble of the twin World Trade Center, due to the act of Al Qaeda militants.
"This is a symbolic place tremendous sacrifice that has been done on a difficult day, almost ten years ago,"Obama told the firefighters.
To them, Obama also said, "You always will have a president and government that supports, as you have supported the people of New York for several years."
After Obama spoke, one of the brigade leaders showed the president a warning sign that reminded everyone present of those killed in the attack. |
